A Company In China Unveiled A Humanoid Robot!

A company in China has revealed a humanoid robot that is priced at about $1,370, and stands 3.1 feet tall.

Noetix Robotics, a startup based in Beijing, has revealed a humanoid robot named Bumi that is compact and priced at just ¥9,998 (around US$1,370). The news about the new robot was first shared by TechNode and Global Times.

The robot is meant for regular consumers, such as students and teachers, which tries to show that this technology is becoming more affordable and practical for education and home use. Bumi is a small humanoid robot, only 3.1 feet (94 cm) tall and 26.5 pounds (12 kg) in weight. It’s not meant to compete with large, advanced robots made by companies like Unitree or UBTECH.

Where Will The Robot Be Used?

Instead of these, Bumi is designed to fit into a new category. It aims to be a smaller, more affordable type of humanoid robot for learning, research, or personal use. Despite its small size, early demonstrations show that Bumi can walk and dance, keeping its balance with impressive stability and smooth movement for a robot in its price range.

A New Milestone In Making Humanoid Robots Affordable!

According to Global Times, Noetix describes Bumi as the industry’s first consumer-grade humanoid robot priced under ¥10,000.
The company says this marks a turning point in the commercialization of robotics, moving humanoid robots from lab experiments to everyday household devices. The robot’s low cost is due to its use of lightweight composite materials, an in-house motion control system, and a simple, modular design that focuses on educational use rather than heavy industrial work.

The company’s earlier humanoid model, the Noetix N2, reportedly received over 2,500 orders and even participated in a humanoid robot half-marathon earlier this year.

Noetix Has Become One Of China’s Fastest-Growing Robotics Startups

These achievements have helped establish Noetix as one of China’s fastest-growing robotics startups. Unitree launched the most affordable full-sized humanoid robot in July, priced at around US $6,000.

With Bumi, Noetix is pushing the cost even lower, further reducing the entry barrier for humanoid robotics. The robot operates on a 48V battery with a capacity of over 3.5Ah, providing one to two hours of use per charge.
